Not suprised.

My order is in with the supplier so all I can do is wait right now.

I just hope GM's money issues do not cause any problems with them getting this kit out before I get it.

Back orders have started shipping. It may take awhile to fill all the back orders

Well, that being the case, why the original detune on the automatic version? It makes no sense to me, but I'm glad to hear the automatics can be upgraded.

We're not sure, might have been a marketing thing as the auto holds up with the extra ponies the stage kit gives it....

By the way, Welcome to the site.

I believe the auto trannies can handle max. 325 ft/lbs of torque. The Kit puts it at 315.

What they usally do is with the new programs lift the power for a fraction of a second with the computer at the shift points.

They may just have not develped the torque managment as much on the original set up for several reasons. But the new set up is under warranty and will not hurt the tranny unless you do something stupied.

I expect even if both trannys will have the same power there will be a slight differance in perfromance by a little over the normal manual vs auto advantage.

The Grand Prix GTP had 260 HP with the V6 and they made the same tranny live under the GXP V8 with 305. Torque managment program prevents damage I suspect that is what is at work here.
