GM upgrade kit

Hey, just bought my SS so I dont know much about it yet, so bear with me on what might seem like dumb questions to all the experts in the future. I think my SS is stock but I would like to know how to check to see if it has the stage 1 upgrade kit on it? Thanks

If it has the GM turbo upgrade (aka stage 1) the upper MAP sensor will have a blue label on it saying BOSCH and some numbers. It's located on the intake manifold as pictured on the right. There is another sensor on the lower, cold side charge pipe but its hard to see. The stock sensors are all black. GMTU boost level is 20-24 psi. Stock is around 15~17 psi.

The upgrade kit also comes with the sticker below, so if you see it under the hood somewhere, chances are you've got the upgrade.

Ok, so I looked where you showed me to, and yes it does have the blue Bosch piece, and it has the sticker under the hood!! Wow that is amazing!! I bought this car from a Toyota dealership and thank God they had no idea what they had. They didn't even know it had the performace pkg on it. After I bought it, the salesman saw the Brembo brakes and said he didn't know it had those. Of course thats the only reason I even looked at it, but I didn't tell them that during the process. And now to find out they didn't know it had the upgrade kit, only better!! Thanks for the info guys, im looking forward to slowly upgrading the suspension too. Im looking at Tokiko, Eibach ect. Let me know if you have any suggestions for suspension.

Lot's of different suspension options out there, but with out knowing what your goals are, it is hard to make any suggestions. The stock fe5 set up is pretty awesome, and rides pretty good for how much performance it give you.

Welcome to the SS family.........driving one give you this.......

Yeah, i guess im just looking for moderate improvement in handling since I drive mountain roads alot, not looking to make it a track car. Part of the problem might be that the dealership put X-green high mileage tires on it, so I might just buy an extra set of rims and high performace tires for the summer and that might do it.
