How much more power do you think the Auto Tranny can hold?

Well, the title pretty much says it all. I opted for an auto simply becasue I enjoy driving them more. Although Im having NO SECOND THOUGHTS, i was curious to know if anyone has insight into this topic.
Let me know, I already have the Turbo Power Upgarde/Stage 1 Kit/GMPP Tune/ Whatever the hell we are currnetly calling it.....
....and a magnaflow exhaust. Im looking to do more but the AT and the warrenty are curretnly holding me back. I would hate to be the first to find out just how far it can be pushed. Although I think my next task is to burn up the tires (in a safe and street legal way) so that I can justify some stickier summers.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this one. The 4T45e transmission has stamped steel parts which are not know for being durable. Also in my past life of looking for upgrade parts, there were plenty for the 4T65e, but few for the 4T45e. Check Intense Racing website for more information.
I don't think anyone has anything to worry about, there isn't enough hp to be found in over the counter parts....and if anybody goes beyond that they won't be playing with stock pieces anymore anyways.......
Generaly the guys who have used this tranny in racing have done up to 320 HP before it starts to see some failures.
The diff usally goes at the drag strip is the first problem.
I think the 290 HP from the upgrade kit has taken it to the limit with a little left for long term durability. Note the Solstice goes 340 HP with the 5 speed and even the HHR 5 peed is limited to 290 HP. The diff and axles are the weakest area.
Most big time GP racers convert to the Caddy transaxle since it will take over 400 plus HP. But they have to chop up the floor and firewall.
I am sure you can go over 320 HP with care but the trannys life will decrease at a more rapid rate.
