Gods racing gas... Ethanol

I run a nice gasoline tune during the winter, as I use my 'Buggy' all year round...

But, when spring arrives, I load my E47.5 Ethanol tune, with a 50/50 mix of E85 + 91/93 gasoline...

It puts a smile on my face every day, what a difference...
A true Jekyll/Hyde experience...

Just the Ethanol itself is worth 30HP in our engines...
With a good E47.5 tune, it's worth at least 50HP & 100ftlbs of wonderful torque...

Yesterday i'm on cruise control at 45mph, & I put my foot to the floor & the tires start spinning all the way up to 65mph...
Spring is here, & I'm smiling...

The only thing that I can compare it to, is Nitro vs Alcohol dragsters...
You know what I mean if you go to the track when the Nitro dragsters are there...
What a differance Nitro makes compared to Alcohol...
They call Nitro, Liquid-Dynomite for a reason...LOL

Sounds like a lot of fun. You'll have to report back in a year or so and let us know how all the seals are holding up.

He's been running his car this way for years now. Are you referring to the DI injector seals?

Talking

I've been running Ethanol in my buggy since I bought it new in 2009...
So this will be my eleventh year running an Ethanol mix...

I have always driven it like I stole it, so mileage is real bad... LOL
You have got to pay-to-play...
But, I once tested it to see how good the mileage would be without ever going into boost, & got 30mpg, boring...

It seems to be getting stronger every year, with almost 38,000 miles on it.

No part problems so far...

My apologies. I misread, I thought it said you were running 50% ethanol. That was referring to the tune.

I am running 50% Ethanol..., well, close enough, 47.5%

A 50% mix of 1 part E85 + 1 part E10 91/93 gasoline = a mix that contains 47.5% Ethanol.

E85 = 85
E10 (gasoline) = 10
85+10 = 95 divided by 2 = 47.5

'Tuners' call it a E47.5 'tune', as it's the BEST mix of Ethanol/Gasoiline, that produces the BEST overall performance in our 2.0 LNF engines...
Going to a full E85 tune, with 100% E85 might get you 5 more horsepower, BUT our fuel sytem WILL be maxed out, & you could go lean, & blow your engine...

I started out at 30% Ethanol when I bought my 'buggy' new back in the spring of 2009, & started running 47.5% Ethanol in the fall of 2009...

When my tank gets low, I go to my local station & pump in 7 gallons of E85 + 7 gallons of 91/93 gasoline...
Easy Peasy...
