OK, I get where you're going to put the parallels now.

You think line 3 will catch 90%, it will be interesting to see. My understanding is that the crankcase pressure and oil vapor is much, much worse in boost condition, so I would think a very high percentage to line 2. But countering that theory is the fact that the motor spends much less time in boost condition, so maybe it will be more in line 3 after all.

I see the catch can on the HF website. Is the drain a spring-loaded button, or a removable screw? How difficult is it going to be to drain?

The unit is cheap. It's got a Schrader for a drain. The pcv housing and cans will lift off and dump out. I'm basing my 90% figure from the amount of oil pooled in my intake. It's a guesstimate at best. We'll prove it soon enough.

Good information here guys, sorry I'm missing out contributing to this right now, I'm in wally world working on a project right now. Will be here until next week some time.

Randy, you don't want to use anything with a spring loaded auto dump feature. The auto dump is set up to spring open when there is no pressure in the bowl which is what you would see in a vacuum. Take a look at some of the filters that Northern tool offers. Those are the ones I have had success with in the past.

Adding to this, I don't know if anyone really offers a "package" that address's all the different scenario's with respect to our PCV/oil mist issues. I believe we are going down the right path, both vapor lines have to have some means of separating the oil from the vapor/mist drawn from the valve cover.

Just throwing this out there..... Do we want to move this to another area other than the How to tutorial while we are going through this? It's not really a tutorial right now, it's more of a science experiment.... once we have found a definitive answer then it can be turned back into a tutorial.

Very true Doc, it started as a how to but we're in uncharted territory here. Maybe my pal ol' blue has the power to move is into the SS performance section. Once we get the details ironed out I could make a complete how to.

I'll put in a request and see where it gets us. Hoping to get a few items powder coated and start reassembly soon. I still have the new cold air box to build and hopefully up and tuning come spring.

Being that this is a duel can set up could you post a line diagram as to the plumbing of the system?
Question:Taking vapor from two different locations, why can't you use a single catch can?
