K&N 63 Series AirCharger Intake Kits

Is anyone running the K&N Aircharger intake kit and if so, is there any noticable performance gains? K&N states a 9.37 HP gain @ 5069 RPM. The P/N for the 2.0L Turbo HHR SS is 63-3069.

These are just on the market. I will have to check as they may not even be on the market yet.

The last time I spoke to my KNN rep they said they were still in certification.

I have has the part number since the first of the year as the promote the items before release. Even if these kits are not Carb apporved yet once they are those in California can call them for your needed Emission sticker free of charge.

It is interesting they did get 170 HP stock. Not much gain but a gain is a gain. I wish they could have made a nicer lid for the air box.

I was hoping for 10 so I sould say with the stage kit I have a even 300 HP. Not that the 6.38 will make a differance.

I agree. How did the stock vehicle make 170hp when it is programmed to "detune" itself to stock performance?

Be interesting if they do make a gain, would the STG1 kit show more of a gain, since the computer is opened up for learning.

I just need to clarify that even though GM has rated are cars at 260 stock and 290 with the stage kit, were really only at about 245 stock and 275 with stage, this seams to be the norm with the 5sp, with that said I'd buy the K&N but do I really have to use there top cover? I think the stock one looks better IMO.

Woudln't most of that 9hp gain come directly from the filter? I don't see where the piping would add much value here. ??

I added the price to the system at work and it is $270.69 Summit Racing.

I think I will buy the intercooler tubes before I would spend the money on this kit.

Now the kit for the wifes GTP adds like 16 or 17 HP because the intake tube is so bad on that car.

I will watch and see if marketing will adjust the price. We try to keep the lowest price around.
