K&N replacement filter # is E-1989 approx 53.00 which is the same filter there useing in this upgrade, why spend 270.00 for a lid and tubing that is not needed IMO?

Product value needs to equal or surpass price.

Well, my question in starting the thread was answered.

Nobody has tried this kit out, but as usual, the group has provided a valuable consensus.

With that further defined, addressing a group of avid SS owners, it seems that K&N has a real loser on their hands from a sales perspective, unless the price drops to a level in which price does not surpass, but at least equals its value.

I would say that 9 HP more with a filter change is pretty good gains. I gained really nothing on my Z28 going to a K&N filter.

I don't have an SS but I think the stock even looks better. Unless you just want something that says you have a K&N filter!

I recieved my filter today, will install it after first dino run on Mon will let you know if there is an improvement, its the filter only
