K&N Air charger

I finally got my K&N air charger parts today in the mail. I just ordered the tube, the vent piece, and the two hoses for $140. Didn't feel the need to order the lid or pay that much for the whole kit. I already had the K&N filter and never through a code with that, so we will see if I get any codes now. I hardly doubt it because I haven't gotten one yet with the just the filter like many others have. Not sure if I will really notice any difference, but if it makes the air flow better thats good enough.

I don't think this will add enough power to notice a butt dyno even, but I can hear the turbo a little more. It is a lot cheaper just getting pipe and then people can use whatever filter they want. Like many have said the intake is fine as is. I just wanted to put in a better pipe. I still get no codes.

If you go to the k&n webiste you can pull up the install sheet and it shows the parts and part numbers to the kit. Here are the parts that I ordered. I just bought the clamps at the local auto store. Part numbers are at the end of each line.

B Hose; 3” To 2-1/2” ID X 3” L TPRD Reinforced 1 08713
D Intake Tube 1 087147
E Vent; STRT, 1/4” NPT To Quick Release 1 08938
G Hose; 3-1/4” To 3” ID X 3” L TPRD Reinforced 1 08429

So a k&n filter will fit in the stock air box? Just remove the stock filter and put in the k&n? What about the the groove in the box where the regular air filter sits in? Will that be a problem?

I went this route at first. It will oval the filter just a bit. But leaves no impression

Oh ok. And what about sound and performance? Is it even worth it? Those filters are kinda pricy

it is a lifetime filter, just clean it and throw it back in, you will spend more in your vehicles life replacing the factory filter.
