Bolt ons USUALLY don't affect your warranty. I have heard ONE horror story about about a douchebag dealer, but after dealing with aftermarket parts and warranties for Ford, GM, and Nissan, I have yet to have a problem with any of my bolt-on aftermarket parts affecting my warranty.

Here is a feedback thread started by NST. It is completely unadulterated, and there is nothing but positive feedback. If NST was selling snake oil, they would not be able to make threads like this without getting flamed and bashed and damaging their reputation publicly. The flaming just isn't there. It's all rave reviews and happy customers.

I'll post more as I come across them.

Here's another:

Look. The deal is that I have a wealth of information and real world experience with satisfied customers of NST, and that should speak to you alot more than some bench racing about pulley theory based on the experience of somebodys mother's brother's cousin's dog's friend's owner's dad. There is plenty more. Just ask. :)

Here is why I did not buy a set of pulleys for our BMW. Not just that it is well written, but considering the highly respectable source. Of course our is not a long 6 cyl crank, so I'll leave that hole open for further discussion. http://www.dinancars.com/bmw/technia...armonic-damper

I am familiar with Dinan. Great company. They make great products for the M cars, and I've got friends that have used their stuff to great success. I completely agree with Dinan's conclusion about the dampener for his application and I will explain why. As you duly noted, BMW's use 6+ cylinder engines. Dinan mentions the large dampener in the BMW pulleys, something we don't have. In addition, the M3 which Dinan deals with regularly revs to 8K+ stock. Anyone plan to rev their HHR that high?

Also, if you look at some of the threads I posted, there are plenty of examples of people using NST products long term (50K+ miles) with no ill effects.

I'd be looking for > "no ill effects" and the graphs I see claim 2-3hp. I realize that's > 0, but I can get 2-3hp on a dyno by moving my cooling fan around the shop to get better airflow across the intercooler. It seems like an expensive and invasive proposition for 2-3 (and potentially 0) horsepower.

But, it sounds like you're gung ho about it. Give it a whirl and let us know what your results are. You may be the one that generates the rush for these parts.

I have had aftermarket pulley's on all of my previous Chevy's (96 Vette,97 Cavalier, 01 Blazer) and loved them, not only do they add a hint of color to parts that normally don't, they also give a few extra HP, who doesn't want some extra HP with very little effort? AaronSS, i would definetly be interested.

if you are worried about your warranty, have them installed by a certified technician, unless the dealer is a real douchebag, and it is installed by a certified tech they won't void the warranty.

i've got an underdrive pulley set on my Camaro, and love them. Aaron, i'd be interested as well. i'd prefer looking at a whole set, however, not just the crank. i feel there is more to be gained when you match the sizes across all of your loads, and resize the alternator for proper output. that is how my Camaro's set is, and i get great output from the alternator, and she definitely feels a tad quicker. she also seems to rev a bit quicker too, with less slowing her down. now, i haven't dyno tested her, but i can feel a slight difference.

I probably wouldn't order them but have had pulleys on cars in the past.

My camaro didn't really dyno any higher but ran almost 2/10th and 2 mph faster in the 1/4 (same weather/track) after I installed the ASP pulley.

I don't know how it would effect the HHR but they do work depending on the application.

Thanks for the encouragement from some of you. It turns out that the company has already done some development on another variation of the ecotec, so depending on how similar it is, the prototype could come sooner at a lesser financial risk for NST. Sounds great to me!

Are you only looking at peak horsepower? Pullies tend to add a few peak horsepower but more at different points throughout the rev range. One of the graphs I posted added 12whp. Either way, like you said, I'm into the idea and will be meeting with NST for them to take a look sometime in the next few weeks. :)

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor. I agree with everything you posted Aaron.

It is harder than hell to get HHR people to agree to buy pulleys...even with dyno proof...and explaining untill your blue in the face. I know from personal experience. I been making and selling pulleys for GM four bangers for some years now. Some communities love lightweight aluminum pulleys...this one doesn't.

I bet your get 5-8 whp gain.
Also you can not hard anodize colors. You can hard coat clear...which will come out medium to dark grey. The pulleys in my sig are Anodized.

Also I wish you the best of luck becoming a vendor. I hope you have a better time with it than I did. check my myspace in my profile for some info.
