I just got off the phone with a rep from Fidanza. They said that they will know by the end of next week if their current product offering for the SS/SC will fit the FWD LNF, or if the RWD LNF flywheel will fit the FWD LNF. Stock dual mass flywheel weighs 26lbs, and the Fidanza unit weighs around 12.5. That will free up ALOT of hp in the first few gears, with decent gains in 3rd and fourth. You can use a sprung or solid hub clutch with their flywheel as well. Woohoo!

I know people did that for the Z28's but when it came to Drag Racing it made it a bit slower out of the hole for the 60 ft. Lowers the momentum that the engine needs to launch hard. Great on the High Speed sector. I am glad to see these products coming.

That is only true for applications where you are not traction limited and you can drop the clutch without sitting at the line doing a burnout, meaning RWD with sticky tires. In that application, the heavier flywheel provides the engine with the inertia to get the tires moving quickly when the clutch is dropped.

For the most part, that's not possible in a powerful FWD car unless someone is planning to go to the track with some big slicks and drop the clutch. In that case, you're just going to break things anyway.
