Looking for GM Tune

Hello all,

I should have jumped on the E-Bay Motors deal for the GM Tune, a day late and more than a dollar short! Is there another deal like that to be had? I really don't want to pay MSRP. If there is a good dal out there please PM me.

Better be sure that the authorization code is intact if you buy privately. It could be a mess if you have a dealer install the sensors, then have issues flashing the ECM. The calibration number is good for one VCI download only, so you should get a written statement from the seller that it has never been done in case it ends up in court.

Crate Engine still has the kits for $550 + $12.95 shipping + a free EcoTech T-shirt. The extra $$ may be a good insurance policy or you can take your chances and save $53.

I wouldn't chance it on a possibly illegitimate authorization code. The sensors by themselves are relatively inexpensive, and it wouldn't take much to counterfeit a kit with a phony code or try to recycle a code that had already been redeemed.

My experience has been that cheaping out on stuff usually comes back to bite me in the rear end.

GM Performance Parts

For all those who are still looking for the kit, GMPP (not GMPD; you won't find it there) usually forwards their business to a dealer network. You can pick from different dealers on their network to get a good price. I found one in PA with pricing around this level, but there was a backorder of a couple of weeks on the kit.

Going through the GMPP network is probably the best way to go if you want to insure that you are getting a genuine product at the lowest price. These dealers don't always have the kits in stock, so you might have to wait. CED always has them, but they're a little more expensive, but reputable.

Once you're at the site, click on "locate dealer" on the upper right hand corner.
