My Stage Kit is Installed

Took the SS(7800 miles on it) in at 12noon got it back at a little after 5pm. yesterday. Dealer charged me 3.5 hrs labour. I can accept that seeing that it was the first at the dealership. The tech had done Colbalt upgrades but this was his first HHR SS.
Yes, he had some setbacks but that was part of the learning curve, especially when he was referring to the GM tech line. I had gave him all the info that all the great people on this forum had supplied, but I'm not completely sure that he used it all. Even so, it seems to be a perfect install so far, no codes thrown yet for me and none in the techs test run.
I did a small 3/4 throttle @ about 28mph in "D"(it's an auto) with my winter tires on. The tires broke loose really easily(of course with the winters on), TC came on, but I could really feel the difference in power. I didn't look at the boost gauge. I will probably go out today and find a remote area to play with my new toy.

I'm still wondering why as a consumer we have to pay for a techs training time? If the tech doesn't know how to do it the clock stops until he gets the proper training/support needed.

I'm sure the above won't be popular but you go to and pay a higher price at a dealer because they are supposed to know the vehicles they are working on. Not our fault this kit is new.

Being an ex GM employee, I know how they work and I don't think that up to date training is in their best interest right now. I just assume that staying afloat and getting the new line of vehicles out ASAP is their priority. They do have updates to their tech info lines, but that doesn't neccessarily guarantee the hands on approach which is the best training of all. Someone has to be the first! It just happened to be me. They did give me a little discount($400Can). 5 Hrs x $130= $650.

I sure know that feeling! I have had mine since before Christmas and have yet to get enough dry pavement to really "play"

Welcome to the tuned Club, I am sure you will be happy!

Lookin' forward to some ricers and a certain Cobalt SS with a stage tune in my area. The Cobalt has been laughing at me since I owned an '06 HHR 2LT.
Nothin' like a smile turned upside down.

I agree back in 98 I bought a new honda outboard at a local dealer that was the first year he carried the honda line.I was the first customer to reach the 25 hour break in time.

When I went in to get the first service check up that is mandatory by honda to attivate your warranty. The dealer set me up with a date and time to bring it in.When I got there they had the 3 mechanics and a sevice tec from honda there. The tec asked me some stuff then he gave the guys all a lession how to perform the break in sevice.

I got to stay there as well I leared how to set the timing,RPM,vaccum sinc the carbs, check the valve clearance, all the grease points, and a oil change.Good 3 hours latter the tec had trained 4 of us cost to me $0.00.Why no one had ever done one they need my engine to do a training course.

I still have the same motor I go there every other year for a $10.00 oil fiter and do all the work myself. Now how would that be fair to me to charge me for anything more than oil and filter when the used my engine for training.
