new dyno numbers...

well took the ss in today for a dyno day. 3 pulls for $30,can't be that right??? well the first car on the dyno was a stock 06 gto auto. he laid down 314hp,his best out of 3. next up me. everyone had the wth look and really didn't have much faith lol. well first pull for me was a 337.8hp@5250 max torque 370.5@4550....pull#2-341.4@5150 max torque 435.7@2450...don't ask lol...third pull-339hp@5050 max torque 378.2...well everyone was shocked and mouth's wide open. i had the same look, but i wanted to see what other cars was putting down. at that moment i was and still is suspecting this dyno was reading really high. the next car was another gto with the best pull being 440hp. he had intake/exhaust,cams and heads and tuned with manual tranny. anyone with gto's out there, chime in. the next car,yes a gto and no it was not a gto meet lol. it was the 5.7 gto with a supercharger. his best was 370hp. i left after that cause it was getting hot and my son wanted to get to the mall. so until i get better info on this dyno, i won't get excited about theses numbers. the dyno was a DYNOCOM. so anyone with info, let me know. imo, i say i'm about 315-320hp at best. on the low side i say no lower than 300hp. mods in sig. and boosting 25psi. this was done at overspeed in rosenburg,tx.

I agree with you around 315 whp, did you turn off esc? I forgot to turn mine off and on my graph you can see where the whp/wtq both dropped around 3.7k rpms due to power being cut, then rising again. At 3.2k rpms I was at 300 wtq, then fell down to 275wtq all of a sudden and then steadily climbed back up.

I also agree its a high reading dyno, but really all that matters is you use the same dyno to see actual gains/improvements. Temp, weather, how tight or loose the shop straps your car down, and how well they are cooling your car will also effect your readings.

yeah it was off, otherwise it would have been the stock 15psi. cooling could have been better, but wasn't horrible and it was blazin today!!! the only thing that makes me sway this might somewhat be close is because of the first car that dynoed. at the crank they are supposed to put out 400 and he got 314 to the ground, which is very possible. have you heard of a dynocom??

Dynocom is a load bearing dyno if I remember right? Supposedly they are suppose to be stingy with numbers (if I'm thinking of the right kind). If I'm right, then that would even make me more suspicious of those numbers. Where your numbers STD or SAE and what was smoothing on (all this makes a difference)?

Nice numbers! I'm auto and seeing 25psi with the gm tune. I hope to be around 300whp with the bolt ons once i get those ordered.

Dynocoms are a little on the high side. They are loaded dynos IIRC though.

Dynapack (sp?) dynos are said to be the most accurate as they bolt onto the hubs of the vehicle. Anyone have any insight as to who in their local areas has one? That'd give you the most accurate hp/tq numbers of all dyno types out there.

The Trifecta tune can bring you above 315 without "bolt ons".

Okay this makes me miss my GTO... lol But that 370hp with a supercharger needs a better tune or something because that is just horrible... haha and who would do just a supercharger with no other mods? I am lost on that. Most of the ones I knew who supercharged were all over 400 on the dyno.

I'd love to know what exact mods that 440hp GTO had done... Was that an ls1 or 2?

I can not wait to get the mods done on my HHR and then go play with my guys GTO at the track, and with my friends stock 06. :)
