Nitrous?
yulp I was thinking about a spray bar also
but for that I would switch to CO2 ....MUCH cheaper
You'd want nitrous if it was going into the engine because of the higher oxygen content.
Spraying nitrous through the IC is a waste in my opinion, just go with a Cyro kit of CO2 :)

If you wanna spray the N2O, run it through the engine. I knew of a fellow to do this with a Cobalt TC. It was awesome...but only for a whille
However, I think he was being seriously aggressive.Your biggest challenge is proper fueling with the DIS. And then removing the equipment so the dealer doesn't find any trace of it when you go in for the warranty engine!
There is always a telltale sign of the equipment. Don't forget dealer techs are also speed fanatics too, so they know what to look for. But you never know you might get lucky.
In the former, there are 2 oxygen molecules bound to 1 carbon, versus 1 oxygen bound to 2 nitrogen in the latter. The MOL weight of each compound is the same -- 44.
Having said that, N2O goes inside the motor. C02 (or even water, due to its evaporative cooling effects) work well on the IC. Note: water does have one drawback to consider... something having to do with the tires.
I'm not sure an IC spray would show gains to over come the extra 10-15lbs in weight your carrying?
I'm just thinking out loud here, I've never sprayed through an IC.
I think the most gains would be at the track, not on the dyno....
Bill - I take it that these motors don't like the extra pressure of the nitrous ontop of the turbo?
I'm used to my LSX motor's where they love the spray :)

Dropping the IC temp to a very low temp will show gains because of the cooler intake air. Thats what an IC is for anyways so anyhelp should show gains. Or maybe it might not help you Snowmen in the north but here in AZ should do wonders.
spraying the fmic won't net you much net gain... a bit, but not much...
a wet shot of nitrous, as long as tuned correctly is powerful...
a safer daily solution is water/meth injection... you can go water and run more timing, or a water/meth combo that would allow you to run normal gas, and a ish load of boost... since as soon as you get on it, the spray will come on, cool the mix and add more fuel in the form of the meth...
enginerunup has some great kits and stuff for what it's worth...
spraying the fmic just isn't worth the money imho... injection is though

Your LSx engines use the same PFI we've had for over 40 years now, so the integration of nitrous is quite straightforward in comparison.

I might have to add a meth kit this spring when I tune the car
The biggest challenge is enabling the DIS (Direct Injection System) to add the additional fuel required to support the nitrous effectively. Mind you, I am not advising against it...just cautioning about the difference, and that it would have to be carefully analyzed, and interfaced with what is a brand-new technology.

Thanks Bill!
Have you guys been able to "crack" the new computer? Just wondering why HPTuners is so far behind??
