Moon! Really nice job.

A couple of "might want to do's"

one take some clear nail polish to the cut edges, this will help with flaking and rust near the cut.

two. I would consider some sort of rubber lip around the cut on the top of the hood, under the scoop. This will keep any beading or wind-blown water from getting into the engine bay.

Third. try placing a piece of industrial fiber mat, into the scoop to catch leaves, bugs, etc. or try a small piece of aluminum window screen(available in black) over the cut, to accomplish the same thing. (take a look at the AC mesh on the drivers side cowl, and you'll see what I mean)

Again, thats fantastic! just throwing some ideas to make it more appealing and user friendly...... permanent vs. quick-change.

Keep the mods comming.

PS anyone know if we can mount a blower to the top-end? with the turbo? I know VW is trying this. they got 300HP out of a 1.2L

Hood scoop getting rubbed out next week. While it's off. I will sand and prep the cutout edges for rust prevention. No rain around here now until Oct. or Nov., so will either make a alumn. plate to cover cutout under the hood, or just put stock lid back on. Thanks for the suggestings. "Moon"

4-Play's looking very, very nice Moon! Great work there. Have you needed to have Vince retune you now?

So far, everything is working good or better, so probably won't get a retune just yet.
Later going to bigger intercooler and charge piping, then I may do a retune.
So far got enought H.P. that I can use, for what I use it for, so pretty much done with engine after above mods. "Moon"

Nice work, I really like it. I don' thtink I have the balls to cut into my hood and all but wow, on a black SS, the hood scoop looks sweet. Nice work, well thought out and styling is really nice!! Good job Moon!! I'm going to have to see this in person one of these days :)

snoopyspaz: Not a problem checking it out. We probably only live a couple of miles apart anyway. I work[sometimes really] out of the house, so I'm here a lot. PM me and I'll give you # and or directions. "Moon"

Seems to be working real good. Underhood temps have gone way down. I'm feeding a lot of outside cooler air into the engine compartment, and the filter now has a lot cooler air to draw from. Big hood scoop is feeding a lot of air to a opening half the size of the scoop area, so it's getting a bunch.
Road testing it yesterday during a unseasonal rain, and it worked flawless. "Moon"

moon, couple questions.

1) what hood scoop did you end up with (name of it). You noted you were looking at an original, but then noted you had to go wider. I like the final one you landed with, very clean and fits the look.

2) Did you glass in, or bolt to the hood. I didn't notice in your posts how you decided to attached the scoop.

3) I agree on mesh and foam....no need to revert to original air box lid. Many factory cars are using functional scoops nowadays in all weather.

thanks!
