Quick Question on GMPP Upgrade

I searched but didn't see anything specific to my question.

If I purchase the GMPP upgrade from somewhere like CrateEngineDepot (where its a helluva lot cheaper) does the GM warranty still apply. I spoke with the parts guy at the dealer and he wasn't sure that the warranty would apply unless I specifically bought it through them.

Thanks

Some dealers say that to get the money for parts. In actuality, you have warranty as long as parts are installed by a certified GM dealer.
Of course your dealer has the right to refuse to do the warranty work, but you can just take it to another one, why would they care where you bought the parts.
BTW, today is the last day to order at the sale price from cratengine depot.

yeah, obviously I'm not getting the upgrade today, unfortunately.

Instead, I had to order new tires today first (225/45/18 General Exclaim UHP). Although, I did get the dealer to price match and got them for $105/ea.

As for the GMPP upgrade...I found the below site and their price doesn't look to be a short time sale...Anyone have information on them?

get the lowest price on a GMPP upgrade, print it out and bring it in. A dealer should price match and you save on the shipping and handling, and they still make a profit.

yeah, I'll probably try that when I'm ready to do, which hopefully will be end of summer. Speaking to the service guy and parts guy, no one else here has the upgrade yet, so I'll be the guinea pig I guess for them...

As long as the part is installed by a dealer it is covered or should be covered. The dealers do not always do as they claim.

Find a good dealer that follows the correct info and knows what they are doing.

Its a GM part....does not matter where you bought it.....if the dealer installs it,its covered under the warranty. I work for a Chevy store and bought mine from Crate Engine Depot(cheaper) and it was installed here at our dealer. Doesn't matter.....
