Somebody is working on a true CAI for the SS
Somebody is working on a true CAI for the SS
Hmmm...
"Stages" are planned, and at least Stage 2 will be an increment onto Stage 1, allowing people with a Stage 1 to "buy up" instead of scrapping what they have to get to the next level.
For "Stage 1"--
The CAD work is done.
The flow models are done.
The first mockup is done.
The first working prototype is being built.
For "Stage 2"--
Design concepts are done.
... waiting on Stage I prototype to begin CAD work and flow modeling
For "Stage x"--
Design concepts are done
Researching availability of required components (prerequisite to flow modeling)
That is all I have to offer at this time.
Discuss.

Maybe what's left of GMPD is still at work on this project?
Automotive News 02/20/09:
GM Performance Division has not, in fact, been completely disbanded. The engineers that were focused on performance-car development have been reassigned to other areas and projects in the company. The positive seems to be that when things are back on track, this unit will be reconvened.
Cars that have been developed and are slated for production will not be placed in danger. The Camaro SS for instance, is full steam ahead. We have heard that IF the Camaro SS continues to sell well it will continue on, but if it falls on its face after a model year or two, it faces a grim future.
Here’s where the crappy part starts. Cars that were in development, and by now we’re talking in terms of say, the 2012 model year are now dead in the water. Those projects have been halted.
Also, GM Performance Parts is not part of GMPD and is doing just fine.
So that’s what we’ve gleaned so far. As we are able to chip more news out of this story we will get it to you.

GMPD is also not dead or going to die. They are just not doing production models.
As for the Cold Air package concept this is all fun and all but the game of guess whats in my hand is not if all the hints you have are this something small.

i do believe the "guess what's in my hand" game he's got going on here is due to rules around here for vendors and such, no free advertising, yada yada. those with an SS should know where to go for more info. if not, and you're interested, PM him.
