Switched from Mobil 1 - Royal Purple
Its been 2 weeks since switching over to Royal Purple,
I've noticed 2 things- The car runs 2 degrees cooler at all times, and the engine is a little smoother ? (less noisy)
It coat me $8.99 a quart and $8.00 for the filter = $62.00 , still cheaper than a mobil 1 oil change at a shop or the dealer, And was the easiest oil change i have ever done. The top loaded oil filter rocks and makes it a less messy job. IMO

If the roal purple lasts like it says, it will be about 7000-8500 miles before it's changed. Anyone else make this switch ?

I haven't changed the oil in mine yet but I do run Royal Purple in my truck. When I made the switch, I didn't notice it running any cooler but it did idle smoother overall and was a lot less noisy during warm-up.
As far as the oil in the HHR? I'm still trying to decide between AmSoil and Royal Purple...

Royal Purple
I too have been using Royal Purple since the first oil change. I have two specific positive examples of Royal Purple solving problems. One to do with an aircooled motorcycle engine and the other with an industrial compressor.
Oil discussions are a hot button for many with 'facts' blended with opinion.

RP's "secret weapon" is soluble molybdenum. It works. AFAIK, it's otherwise a good goup IV base stock with a nice additive package.
I use Pennzoil Platinum, very cheap at Walmart, and add 4 Oz Tufoil at each change to get my dose of soluble moly, along with a somewhat more controversial ingredient.

Good luck.
