Trifecta vs GM LNF Upgrade
I was bouncing back and forth myself between the different products. I also looked at SuperChips products. I realize Vince and Trifecta can coax more out of the LNF in the long run, but I really couldn't justify the large price difference at this point. I also don't plan to get crazy with upgrades....this is my daily driver.
I ended up finding a SuperChips FlashPaq 2865 brand new for $269 + shipping. It allows switching back to factory tune at any time. I've had this tune installed for about a week now and love it. I don't think I can beat the performace/$ ratio. The first step change in improvement is easy by just agreeing to use 91 octane or above.
Could I get more performance out? Sure, but I wanted dependability and the ability to change the tune back to stock at a moments' notice. I didn't want to invest a lot up front to allow this.
Based on everything I have read, as well as emails back and forth to Vince at Trifecta, if I wanted the best tune as well as individual attention/solutions for my exact setup, Trifecta is the choice, without question.
The GMTU option fell off my radar pretty quick when I realized how much more expensive it was in total compared to SuperChips.....no contest, as you basically get a similar tune.

trifecta does the same thing, with more power. with superchips, were u able to increase your rev limiter?? i was one of the first with the bsr(hahn tune). i was one of the first people with it and i just wanted an upgrade and got it. it was a waste of money. the bsr and superchips were/are basically the same. a canned tune with a controller.
To get the same thing with Trifecta (always able to switch tune back to stock at anytime), the cost was going to run $600 ($400 for tune + $200 for cable).
Like I said, if I was looking to get the most performance as I installed mods, the Trifecta is a no-brainer to me. Especially with Vince being able to work with you via email.
All I was saying is that at ~$280 w/shipping, the FlashPaq is a good deal for a daily driver. Basically, set it and forget it. If I wanted to play more with intake/exhaust/turbo mods, the Trifecta appears to be a great offering.
I may find myself, after I upgrade the HU/stereo, getting the itch to play more. If I do, I'm really not out any money, as I can remove the HHR SS tune and use the FlashPaq with one of my other vehicles.
