Turbo timers
I was actually quite curious of this as well... I found this on ebay, which claims any keyed ignition will work with it:

Yes they will work but they dont have a plug n play kit you will have to get the wiring schematics for the HHR. I have been told numerous of times that they are not needed with today's cars...But if I was to install one it would be a Greddy I've owned 2 of them in my lifetime on different vehicles and sold it with the vehicles. As a matter of a fact i think I got a used one in the garage!!!!!!!!!!!
Not really needed....unless you always come in like a bat out of hell and then turn the car off immediately, mostly you just need a good 30-90 seconds to let the turbo to cool a little and your good.
I park in the garage.
I pull up
put it in park
get out and close the door
open the garage overhead door
at night I turn on the garage light
I get back in the car and pull it into the garage
I shut it off, get out and close the overhead door.
I think that would be plenty of time for the oil to drain out of the turbo and back down to the pan.
That's the reason for turbo timers, so the oil doesn't get stuck in the return lines and bake up.
It's called coking.
15 to 30 seconds is plenty unless you live 50 feet from the Interstate.
Slide sideways into the driveway, shut it off and hide in the neighbors' bushes 'cause you were getting chased or...
