2.2 motor question

Got a 2007 ls with a 2.2 motor just wondering is this a VVT motor ? I know I don't have exhaust and intake valves sensors so what is this motor consider ?

It's a good engine! I've got 230,000 miles on mine ! Running fine , I preemptively changed the timing chain and guides and the tensioner, to avoid any problems, it's an Ecotec!

Well I had the timing chain done at 170000 with a new water pump .. now at 240000 getting no circulation out of it which tends to over heat which I was told by a mechanic I trust so I guess it time for the grave .. it was a gmb pump which I can't see degrade like that in 70000 miles .. oh well the car serve me good for ten years ..

The GMB pumps I've seen were kind of cheap, with a plastic impeller.

What type pump or brand is better maybe steel ?

I don't remember. You have to look at them. It's one of those things you have to be aware of, I don't think price makes much difference.

If I remember correctly rebuilt pumps seem better to me.

I seen all kinds of pumps between 45 to 70$ just like to what brand people are using? I won' t use gmb no more
