2.4l Intake Manifold

I have a 2009 2.2l & am looking @ the 2.4l Intake & Throttle Body mod.
Does anybody know what years of the 2.4l is compatible with my car?

Best Regards
Dave

What is the advantage of making this modification?

Is there a noticible hp increase and how does it effect mileage?

Just curious if the benifits justify the cost.

I have seen claim of 10hp & 15 ft/lbs with aroun 4mpg.
If you I can get it at a good price I think it is worth it.

you can swap the intake manifold with an adapter plate for your throttle body, the intake manifold used for this is the one piece 2.4 mani. best to buy the kit from crate engine depot. using the 2.4 throttle body requires a tune not to mention rewiring your tb connection, plus since you are an 09 the 2.2 tb has a 6 pin connector and the 2.4 has an 8 pin connector, not impossible but you need that connector, here is the kit for the intake. now the dyno they did was on a modded cobalt so expect your gains to be a little less.

Is there an adapter or different cable for the Throttle Body (6 to 8 pin)?

no you would have to buy/find the 8 pin somewhere and hack up your harness to do it. im working on a wiring diagram for the 6pin to an 8pin 2.0 tb the 2.4 is not much different.

I have the Crate Engine manifold on my 2.2, 2008 LT.

Love it!

My highway mileage jumped from 31 to 35 MPG, and that is in the DC/Baltimore traffic area. In town went from 25 to 28 MPG.

I also added a CGS cold air intake.

Tech help with Crate was great, I had a few "lack of attention" mistakes.

Thank you. I am looking @ that kit also.
But now the Restriction is the Throttle Body (15% difference between 2.2l & 2.4l).

Bringing this old thread alive again, but if you have a 2008 2.2 will the 2008 2.4 be a straight swap or is there still an issue with fitting and pins etc
