CEL blinking has been on awhile. Have had o2 sensor, coil and plugs, and ignition module replaced. Runs like hell. The running like hell didn't start until after coil/plugs replaced.
The initial problem was hard to crank after putting gas in car, but has turned into stalling and sounding like someone who has smoked cigs most of their life. Gets worse when going up incline or turning on ac. Don't remember code, but it registered running lean.
Could it possibly be fuel filters clogged or fuel pump dying?

Without the codes, we'd just be taking blind guesses.
There is no external fuel filter. Could it be the fuel pump ? You should run a pressure test on it. Somewhere in the 50-60 psi range is the norm.

From your descriptions, it sounds like you may have damaged the catalytic convertor.

Get the codes pulled again and post them up here. Only code numbers though. Descriptions of codes are generic in nature and can sometimes be misleading.

 

Welcome to the site, most parts stores like AutoZone will pull the codes free of charge. Let's start there.
It might be something completely different!

 

IF you mean the CEL is actually blinking; you have major damage to something. A flashing CEL means park the car NOW and have it towed to a competent mechanic.

I agree if the light is flashing its telling you that there is a severe misfire that can cause catalytic convertor damage if you keep driving it.

Not to sound like a broken record, but get your codes pulled A.S.A.P.!

Then post the codes up in this thread, and please use the complete codes(like P0300 for example), not what the auto parts store counter clerk thinks it might be.

That does you no good, because without the codes, we're firing blind.

 

Since its an '06 I wonder if you don't have rusted fuel line like I did.

Buy a code scanner and get the codes. I know most of the big auto parts places will read the codes for you but a lot of them don't like to tell you the codes they pull just their interpolation of the code.

They are a good investment anyway. Harbor Freight is your friend,...

 

sounds like my car before I replaced my clogged fuel injectors. code was 1147 for fuel trim balance. replaced the injectors as set and had dealer reprogram computer. good luck
