When I first mentioned that I wanted to purchase the items by part# Ben said that they did not sell just the parts. After talking to him and he "talking" to some other people he gave me the prices.

 

Seeing how they never plan on offering a kit for the 2.2 with a 5-speed, I had to do something. So far I do not regret it. Feels like it's got more get up and go when you pusher hard, not to mention the great sound coming from under the hood. Also feels like I'm getting better throttle response during normal driving, but then again I just can't help putting my foot down.

 

Looks good. I have a plan to set up my custom intake but go 180 the opposite way so the filter will be aimed for the grill. I need to do some thinking on it but there are many ways to skin a cat.

Your IAT's I am sure are up compared to the stock unit but just having it freer flowing I am sure makes a difference.

Instead of 180 degrees - you might think 90 degrees. Then put some form of a shield behind it to block the heat. I have plans to add a shield that goes under mine, up the sides a little, and up the back a little. Just have to get the time and think about it.

 

Just an FYI.

Airaid is now offering a "non-oil" filter, SynthaMax in addition to thier SynthaFlow filter they've offered for years. The new filter is still washable and reusable, you just don't need to deal with adding oil to it. The part# prefix would be 701- instead of 700-. (Third digit changes to a 1)

I could give you a ton of excuses, but actually, I really just haven't had the time.

As far as the price, the no-oil type are just a few dollars more, $2-6.
