Cool Chip

By any chance does anyone have any information or actually have a performance chip for the HHR that is available. They seem too good to be true for the price.

Most "chips" are junk and do nothing....honestly not even sure if "chips" are available. If you want more power...you need a "tune". Check out trifectaperformance.com

Oh boy, here we go again.

You answered your own question !! Others will probably say the same thing.

There is a number of threads on this topic if you do a search.

It seems to me that many cheap electronic performance mods involve fooling the car's computer and most good (expensive) ones involve programming it. Food for thought.

I've tried one of those trick the IAF/MAF sensor to think it has colder air and my mpg dropped from 33 mpg to 27 mpg, well at least I tried it and can pass along the results, it failed to live up to the claims of the company that sold it.

The only reason to fool the ECU/PCM is if it fights lower afr and your computer is the type that can't be programmed. I seen this issue for the 2000 3g eclipse, but even fooling it works only for so long.

Save yourself some cash and get a OBD-II cable and software. It is a lot of fun messing with your car's tune yourself.

I have an 07 2.2L LT1 with a Jett Performance Chip stage 2. I can tell you that my car does feel like it has more power and will peak very high in the RPMs before it will shift. I have raced my car and abused it as well. I have done over 65mph in L with the transmission. Yes the mileage did go down on the DIC and the other side is I now have to run 91 Octane and above. I have been dynoed and have 143HP going to the wheels.

Mods: Jet 2 Performance Chip
Jet MAF sensor
Cold Air Intake / KN Filter

I did not notice much change when I swapped the MAF sensor out. FYI

Did you notice the delay time shortened when pressing on the pedal?
