Exhaust Tip II

I now have another question ... the Gibson exhaust tip I bought has a 2.25" inlet, however, my tailpipe is only 2" and the exhaust tip cannot be tightened more than 1/8 inch. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there any solutions.
Thanks!

You could take a hacksaw and make a two inch cut the width of the blade along the length of the muffler end, cutting through both sides at the same time, and squeeze it good with a U-clamp. Or you could buy a genuine Chevy stainless tip like I did. Here is the one I bought on fleabay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...QQcmdZViewItem

I would take it to the muffler shop. If there is enough room, they can make a piece that will make it work and it's not that expensive. Hope it helps.

Any muffler shop should have a fitting to make it fit....and it shouldn't cost too much to have them take care of that for ya. When I got my new exhaust tip, they just added it in to the cost of the tip and welding it on.
