Thanks for combining the threads. I haven’t checked the for sale section in a little bit, I think I’ll see what’s there

And right there in the ZZP site is the HPTuner solution.

Too bad you sold the SS engine, we wouldn't be having quite the same conversation!

Was your friend's 2.4L engine toast or can you still get it? They have more oomph than the 2.2 right off the bat.

The 2.4 car is long gone. I’ve been collecting parts for years. And I had saved some posts from the cobalt forums about NA builds. Apparently cobalts are being built as race cars for the local round tracks. And they don’t allow turbo or superchargers. Those guys are reporting that with a intake and exhaust and some tuning they are getting about 200hp. I’ll make a list of links for the pages I’ve been looking through.

I’ve found a local cobalt club/group that says they can help me with tuning! I’ll make a new thread soon with my results. But while talking with them the subject of cams came up. Has anyone done a cammed NA build on ‘08 or newer? I searched and couldn’t find anything solid. The threads I found all say the same “You should go with boost” or “just buy an SS” and that’s not what I’m trying for. Also All products I found were for ‘07 and back.

I don't understand how different cams would make a difference in a motor with VVT. Wouldn't the computer try to correct them out?

Depends on the geometry of the cam lobes , lift and degrees if rotation the valve is open, I don’t think there’s much to be had in a gain of HP.
I’ve read where 2.4 Equinox cams are used on a supercharged 2.4 , but didn’t see any specs on the camshaft.
