FULL cold air intake with cgs.

I was at home this afternoon while it was raining and i had a brainstorm. I took the stock black tubing that comes with the stock intake and wedged it into the hole in the side of the fender. Then took and put the rest of the tube down behind my passenger foglight. Next i attached the air filter to the end and it works perfect. No the filter is not outside my fender i just put it there to take a picture to help explain what i did. Heres two pics for you to help with my not so very good explanation.

Thanks for the thought. I just put the CGS intake on and now I have a rattling noise maybe that will clear it up. I found that the intake hits the hole where the old tube went. Thanks again.

When the fender liner is pulled away, is it unobstructed thru to the fender?
The hole that you see from the engine compartment is straight thru?

This is way cool dude - I think you have an answer to a longstanding challenge. If it is as easy as you describe to fish that tubing into that space behind the liner and secure it so it doesnt fuggin rattle, we have something to do this weekend!

The tube does fit pretty snug when you put the wheel well back in place. the tube can be squished alittle tho its a very flexible tube. I did notice a very small diffrence in acceleration. I had my brother hit the gas and i put my ear down by the filter (which is rite behind my foglight) and you can hear it suck in the air really loud. I'm happy my 2.2 can get colder air now. I'm going to do a fuel economy run to see if it makes a difference.

Good info guys. I don't have a cgs, but impressed with the ingenuity as I had a home built intake a while back on a 2.4. I bet the guys with no fog lights will be very happy, as they can have a lot of air coming in if they want.
