Red face

I just completed a run from Florida to NY and covered a little over 3000 miles mostly interstate highways at 65-70 mph with cruise. My 2.4 auto averaged 33.1 mpg over the trip and the DIC also registered 33.1. One 300+ mile leg over mostly state roads at 55 mph I reached 36.6 mpg. The mpg killer came from a traffic tie up on I-95 in SC and stop and go from an auto accident which delayed my trip for 35-45 minutes and dropped the milage down to 29.6 mpg during that leg of the journey. My 06 HHR just past 31000 miles on the clock. Gas prices were low of $3.06/ gallon to $3.45/ gallon, which is about $0.10/mile for gas.

The oil life indicator on the DIC went from 69% down to 58% during the nearly three week trip. I now have over 5000 miles on the last oil change. I still have a trip scheduled to Huntsville AL next week ~ 1500 more miles, then probably get an oil change in early May.

I just finished hosing off the road grime, bugs and general dirt. I left early from upstate as snow and rain were in the forcast for this weekend and I didn't want to drive two days in lousy weather. Good to be home and in my own comfy bed.

2008 LS Panel 2500KM

Well, I'm disappointed. 2500 KMs and best I can do is 20mpg, city, highway
and I'm only hauling my ass around in it, no cargo, tires fine
and I drive like an ol' lady most days.

33.5 on the last run from Buffalo to the west end of Ohio, both by DIC and tankful. Then I hit the 'express lanes' through Chicago...

Currently in Monterrey, CA, about 400 miles from Santa Ana in SoCal. Made it in 6 hours and was getting about 30+ mpg, going about 75-80 (once I got out of LA traffic that is!).

No sunroof open as it was too windy on 101 and only used cruise control a couple of times.

I was quite pleased!
(downside: just spent an hour getting the bugs off of it once I got to the hotel!)

down here in the rio grand valley gas is at about $3.49 right now. i changed my plugs back to factory, have a k n air filter, tires are all at about 32psi, i don't gun the gas at stop lights and intersections, i drive like an old man many times and the gas milage that im getting is just CRAPPY. im getting about 23-24 sometimes. no cargo, no big rims, no system, nothing that would add extra weight to the ride, other than my lil boy's car seat. i had the bosch platinum + 4, and i changed em back to originals thinking that the plugs had sumthing to do with it. guess not. what the hell is going on!?!?!?!?

I believe your tires are spec'd to be @ 36psi, not 32. They work best at full inflation. Check your driver's side door jamb to be sure.

I was going to chime in..............SCREW IT. My mileage blows, the dealer doesnt find anything wrong......tires are inflated at 36. She's just a baby and has only 2300 miles in 4 months. The short trips I use it for is the culprit. I can only hope that as she gets more mileage on her, she will be a better consumer.

After 2 1/2 Years of owning our '06 LS we finally took a trip of sorts with it. From Chandler down to So. Tucson, and back last Sunday. 232 miles round trip. (Probably the 32 mi. accounted for intown driving.) Anyway, we got 28.8 MPG for the trip. Probably would have done much better than that but the speed limit is 75 most of the way, and my Wife was driving! Everytime I glanced over at the speedo it was sitting on 80!!
Not very condusive for good gas mileage. And we had a 200 lb. load in the back end on the trip home.

I drove from Jax, FL to Robersdale, AL not long ago... about 750 miles round trip and was getting 34 mpg with the 2.2 and auto even doing 80 on the interstate. That was without the a/c so I assume that using it will drop it some.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that the A/C was on the whole trip also. I would imagine that would account for a couple of MPG less.
