Glasspack & Vibrant Intake
ok, i'll stop now.
I'll comment on both mods.
The way I did it was I put the intake on first and drove it for a while.
Then removed it and did the glasspack. Drove that way for a while.
Then put the intake back on and had both.
My final analysis is the intake made the most improvement in power.
The factory muffler as quiet as it is, is not that restrictive. Someone should do a flowtest. I remember another sight a guy made a flowmeter with a leaf blower and tested different mufflers. It was a good comparison. I'll see if his sight is still around.
Anyway, this intake flows so well, it set off a check engine light.
If I stop and pop the hood after driving the intake is cold to touch. I think as long as you are moving relatively forward you always have cool air entering the engine compartment. At least up here in Canada anyway.
Also as someone mentoned to me the cooling affect of air velocity.
So all I have to do now is check that code and try and correct it.

I'll comment on both mods.

Some on here have found oil from the filter gets on the MAF sensor and sets a code.
Where in BC are you located, Eh ?
No codes checked yet, light is off, reg filter back on.
Cone was not on long enough to get any oil on anything, I have never had that problem in over a dozen different vehicles with oiled cone filters.
I'm going to eliminate the sensor from that corner when I get a chance.
DEEREBILT, glasspack is off, sorry. There was a sale on SS Magnaflow so I put one on.
It is a little mellower, not as raspy now.
