Got dyno+tuned today
dyno results
i recently got my 2.2 dyno. I have a 07 2.2 5spd with CGS intake and a magnaflow catback. I made 138.2 whp and 141.6 lbtrq. Happy but want more. what can i do to see a little more and get the best bang for my buck..?
Power suggestions.....
Others will know more than I do, but my suggestion would be a 2.4 liter intake setup, a K&N or GMPP enclosed (cold air breathing) air box/filter setup, a header, and then go for a TriFecta tune. Unless your car was dyno'ed with the hood down, I would expect that your car will make less power than shown when breathing hot underhood air. All told, I would guess you'd make 15 or so more horsepower total with all of that. That sounds puny, but actually a 10% increase isn't something at which to scoff. On a Viper that would be 50 hp.
I found out recently from the esteemed "Sleeper" that our HHR's have various different final drive ratios. Check your build sheet, and maybe a change in final ratio would help with acceleration if you don't already have the steepest gear in place. Warning - mileage will suffer with a steeper gear.
Just my 2 cents worth, and I am no expert. God Bless, Marc

There are several TriFecta tune dealers on this forum. I don't personally know any of them, but TomsHHR is a few posts up. I have never heard any negative comment about anyone who has a TriFecta tune. Be aware however, it will not turn your HHR into a fire-breathing SS Camaro. It will however optimize your engine's power, and get rid of that D%#& enrichment delay off the line. In other words, I think it will improve your performance out of proportion to the peak HP increase number the dyno shows. Folks with TriFecta experience should please jump in here and correct me if I have misspoken. God Bless, Marc
Hello "Woody",
<<<"It aids better on the top end,, I thought I read somewhere that you actually lose a tad bit on the lower end until you get into the sweet spot....." >>>
That makes sense to me, as presumably the runners in the 2.2 manifold are smaller in diameter. That would mean that you keep the airflow speed up (Q=AV remember) with a 2.2 version and would aid in preserving low-end torque. Bigger 2.4 runners on a 2.2 would in total flow more up top, but would have a slower charge milling around down low.
I remember that back in the old carb-on-a-V-8 days. Long runners and small primaries gave you better low-end torque and response, but big fat/short runners and big barrels gave you top end rpm power. Depended on the cam match too as to where you try to make your power. I remember my friend's grandmother (don't ask) had a 413 cross ram in a Lancer that had huge long skinny runners for the two 4 barrels. I am sure Chrysler was looking for a torque monster with that setup.
God Bless, Marc

and get rid of that D%#& enrichment delay off the line this is 100% the truth taking that off. I gained 20 foot pounds of TQ AND 10HP at the low RPMS
