Headers

are the 2.2 and 2.4 exhaust manifolds identical? i am looking to get headers to hook up to the magnaflow cat back but can only find 2.4. also i know cobalt/ion/g5 have the same engine but do they have different manifolds due to spacing or some other reason? can they be interchangeable? thanks

Each of the exhaust manifolds has a different part number. The turbo engine exhaust manifold has a differrent outlet flange to accomodate the turbocharger mounting.

[QUOTE=ZTony8;377618]Each of the exhaust manifolds has a different part number./QUOTE]

Check again part # 12581284 covers all these years and models go to www.gm-auto-parts.com put in the #

It is the same as the one that came off my 07 2.2 in 07 they removed the part # on the casting. The header comes in a box with the part # on the box GM is just messing with your head.

It`s just GM running the different parts game they removed the part # so you think there is a difference.2.0 2.2 and 2.4 is the same thing this thing has been beaten to death allready.Don`t wast your time unless you are going to polish and port your factory header.

What amount HP is gained with the header you are wanting buy? The output of money may not be worth it for the possible slight gain in HP just my thought.

a header alone will usually net you a little gain that you may not notice. but say you add exhaust and a DP to that the header will do its work quite nicely.
