Anyone know where I can get either an alumminum or chromes cap? Socal has them on their website but no info Where to purchase now that they have closed.

Sorry for the terrible typing I think they call it proof reading.

From what I have heard LS1 oil caps fit, however they have a somewhat different plastic base piece. Ours has a solid base with a little plastic bump on the bottom the LS1 is hollow. There has been disscussion that the LS1 cap wouldn't work, some say it will and the base doesn't matter.

That is the LS1 cap I was thinking about getting, just didnt want to spend $26 for something that won't work correctly.

Premiere is right...here's the one that I have...both off and on the car.

This is not mine...it's picture from eBay auction for same thing that is much clearer than mine is.

Has there been any issues using the one you have Deb? I really wanted the cap I posted, but some people thought that the Ecotec cap was pressurized and the LS1 was not. After seeing yours, and If you haven't experienced any problems, I will DEFINENTLY get it.

From what I recall, Mike @ SoCal said he had to have them re-tooled to worked. He wasn't one to give details, and wasn't always right, so I don't know what he did to them, if anything.

The LS1 oilcap is also sealed, as are pretty well all crankcase breather systems now. If it gets warmer soon, I'll see if they swap over.
