No no no. I never said it was your fault. I was merely pointing out the fact that maybe you're looking at the wrong number. I never said you indeed DID write this page you posted. I understand what it says. BUT I am also giving to possibility that the number below your little arrow would be the correct torque rating for the gearbox and what it can handle. Maybe GM did a misprint. I don't know. But DO NOT be putting words into one's mouth. I never assumed anything with your post, never assumed you wrote it, only pointed out that maybe your arrow was on the wrong line. It IS possible you know?

I just ordered mine. It should be here along with the downpipe hopefully tomorrow, if not then by the first of the week for sure. When I get aound to putting it on is another issue.....Just so you know, if you get the long tube Pacesetter there is only 1 manufacture (I believe) that makes a "bolt in" downtube.....the exhaust depot... http://www.exhaustdepot.net/doforpahe.html

I for the life of me have yet to figure out why someone would spend the money to try and make hp out of a four cyl front wheel drive car.

You see these kids throwing thousands and thousands of dollars in there Honda's and Toyota's to get what a 12 - 13 second qtr mile car.

If you want to run some real hp go out and find a pre 1975 camaro or mustang. Gut it and throw in a big block and have some fun blowin the socks off those kids. Why ruin a perfectly good HHR. Once you go throwin headers, down pipes, exhaust your hooked. Your now a modaholic!

I will change the apperiance of my HHR but wont do anything for the motor maybe the muffler as I dont like that big silver hunk hanging back there but comon here folks. Its a 4 cyl HHR!

If your looking for something that responds well to motor mods to get speed and HP you bought the wrong vehicle!

Ok......And how much do you think it would cost to buy a "decent" pre 75 Camaro or mustang and then build or buy a big block that will put it in the 12's?

Hell, just buy an LS1 f-body (camaro/firebird). Doesn't take a whole lot to get one of them into the 11's. Or (God Forbid... a Ford) an old fox body Mustang GT for dirt cheap, they respond well to mods and 5.0 mods are cheap.

You can tell you're not a Mustang guy. Mod one out and find out how "cheap" the parts are.

Geez, I'll just go out and find a good sponsor and build a top fuel dragster with their money (cheap for me) and I could run in the 4 second range....

Hell a 98 LS1 camaro yuo could have for 5K or less. Rip out the interior, put in a alluminum seat and you'll have a 12.5 second car.

You can pick up a 70 -73 camaro for about 2K grab a 400 small block and toss that in it. All you need to do to the motor is swap the cam add an intake and better carb. All that stuff is dirt cheap on ebay. Once again rip out the interior and go racin your 12 second car. Win some cash street racing and start moding your small block.

Getting a beater car and making it fast isnt that expensive if you start with the right base but trying to make a 4 cyl go fast just aint gona happen some kid with a V6 Mustang is gona wipe up the street with ya.

I started with a 1970 Camaro that was a pile and should have hit the junk yard.

This is what my race car looked like when I first ran it. It ran 10.01 all day ugly. By the time I had finished I had 50K in it and was looking at 7's.

Yep... My bro-in-law just bought a junker '92 Camaro for about $700 I think. He then bought a junker Firebird, about the same time period, and put the 400 motor out of the Firebird into the Camaro. We're still working out the kinks, but with straight headers right now it's loud as all get out!

Total cost of his project right now... Roughly $900 and his trailer, which was free to him and he traded the trailer for the firebird...
