Performance ground wire kits?

Has anyone tried one of these on their HHR yet? A friend of mine said he put one on a car and it increased throttle responce.

Any performance increase was due to a lighter wallet.

I'm not looking for sarcastic responces. Have you ever measured voltage after upgrading power and ground wire on a car stereo. There is a difference. The ground wire kit many work but I'm sure the positive side of the battery would need upgraded as well.

Any small upgrade under the hood of the HHR would be a improvment for the power it totally lacks.

How does an increase in voltage increase horsepower or torque? I do not see getting that much of an improvement by increaseing the number grounding points.

Well I read about it and the grounding is a big part (foundation) of your electrical system. Big performance companies like HKS makes these kits. And I also read in some cases it will improve throttle responce, gas milage, more starting power, and smoother idle.

My question was has anyone on here installed one of these on there HHR? I just wanted to know if it improved the throttle responce.

Whiplash...

I can't tell you if you will/will not increase performance. But about a year ago, someone on, I believe, either here or on the Solstice forum posted a video and pic's of an install on a "name brand" grounding system. This guy had several thousand dollars invested in engine improvements and SAID that he noticed the increase in throttle response and also displayed "live" dyno charts showing increased HP, on the video.

The system he installed was several hundred dollars if I remember correctly.

You might want to do some searching...

Good Luck...if you do it...and post your results.

ummm nope... but i honestly fail to see how adding a different ground cable is goin to do any of the things listed.

Seems to be on higher horsepower forced induction vehicles that this truly makes any difference whatsoever. Maybe direct market advertising too! Kind of like the Tornado Air thingy-ma-jigs.

Only thing I can see a grounding kit helping with is the ease of flow for electricity. Least resistance being the best path an such. Making an easier and more accessable (sp) grounding path for the electricity might help with the electrical components and their ease of operation. Something like the coil on plug design of the LE5 and 07+ ECOtecs this might allow for a "cleaner" electrical current to the spark. Maybe not any hotter or more powerful but cleaner. Who knows. There have been a few cases with turbo charged cars making a few more ponies from doing nothing other than installing this sort of kit. So spark is the only thing I can think of that this would help since that is a major source of the FI car's power difficulties (igniting that fuel). I just don't see any possible gains from this on a sub 180 horse NA motor. Just a show piece to color coordinate the engine bay.

Anyone else have any thought towards this???

You pretty much covered it all Jason. Less resistance. Easier operation. You get minimal gains. 2-3whp. But electrical system, like lights and stereo equipment work better.
