I just bought a CGS exhaust for mine and will put it on the weekend if time permits. Hope it helps a little.

What kind of power do you think the 2.2 could make with a stage 1 turbo kit? I would think it could beat the SS engine because it's got more displacement.

Might make a bit more power but engine life is gonna be short. The turbo has forged internals, lower compression and a more boost friendly engine geometry, i.e. bore and stroke than the 2.2. If done with forged internals, the 2.2 would make decent power with a turbo though. I just finished the CGS install, went alright, but i think they sent the wrong adapter to the stock exhaust as i had to really crimp it down to fit and have a slight bit of leakage at the joint, also didn't care for the rear mount as it puts the tightening bolts facing up and they are a biatch to reach. Will be welding everything in tomorrow afternoon though. So it all should be good.

Forged pistons and what not wouldn't be to terrible. It is more expense though.

forged internals for the 2.2 are very expensive. h-beam rods are around 400 and pistons are upwards of that. the internals are rated to 250hp at the crank according to the build book. so if you are looking to beat an SS, be prepared to spend some money.

Well a set of forged pistons for a V-8 are generally around 900 bucks or so so I Can't imagine them being more then that for a 4 cyl. And 1k-1500 more on top of a turbo kit really isn't much considering a good turbo kit is going to be 3-6k.

the reason ( at least i have found) is that none of the big names stock the pistons for our application so they are custom cut. i have the diamond catalog at home, ill look at the pricing when i get there, i remember them being around 700
