Question about the Trifecta Tune/Any Tune?

I know I know, tons of threads but my question is can you take your HHR to any dealer (Chevy or GM?) and have them put it on the car (I ask because I read this in another thread don't know if it true or not? Reason I ask is, number 1 I travel a lot am not always home to receive a package from UPS or FED Ex.

And 2, I just want a little more ummpf, not SS type performance just a little bit, and from what I read the Trifecta wakes up the HHR.

Any Insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks Guys!

For SS performance, you need an SS. For Trifecta, you need to be home to receive a package. Even if the dealer would help you with an aftermarket tune, I would think that would give them too easy an out on any warrantee issues you experienced in the future. The tune that is available from the dealer is for the SS.

There are Trifecta "Dealers"... There's a list of them on the Trifecta site. Other threads that said "Dealer" do not mean a Chevy or GM dealership. (I doubt they would touch that with a ten foot pole, to be honest) If there's a Trifecta dealer close to you, then you could go that route. It may cost less and you don't need to buy or rent the cable/interface. Or you can get it straight from the Trifecta site. In either case you are still getting a tune directly from Vince as he writes all the tunes... Nice guy too!

You may want to own that cable/interface though, besides being able to flash it back to stock if need be, you can also read and clear codes just like any other diagnostic scanner.

Thanks guys, Hopefully soon Ill have a week or more "Home" so I can order it. And there is no warranty on the car, I bought it used for a real cheap price and that was the only downfall. Not a biggie though, just gives me reasons to do the things I want to it! LOL

What do you think about this?

There's a few reviews on there for HHR specific, and seem to have good reviews, Im not trying to start anything, because I know this is a touchy subj for some of you guys, Im just asking because from what I have read, the HHR/Cobalt is a different animal.

The difference being the "Jet Chip" is a canned tune and Trifecta is specific to your car, taking into account any mods you have done. I didn't mention this earlier but it is in the other threads. If you go with Trifecta you want to complete your other mods first and then have the tune written. Vince takes those mods into account when he writes the tune. You also get a week or so to data log and send those via email and he makes adjustments until it's right... Something that's not possible with a module.

Stay far, far away from anything Jet Chip makes. All it does is provide false readings to the ECM. Bad idea IMO.
