RamAir?

Hey all! First post to this forum. Bought a used '07 1LT w/ 2.2. My thoughts and not knowing much of anything on the HHRs as of now, is there somebody out there with a ramair system for these? Since air box is on top of the engine and easy access, I would be surprised not to find one.

We just got ours on Tuesday 'cause the Mrs wanted one. Now I get to dress it up for her. I've read very little on these nifty lil rides but love it already. Why no 3.9s?! Im not much on 4 poppers since my real car is an LT1 but a 3.9 would be awesome and OK with me.

OK... Im going to ask other simple questions elsewhere in the forum. Send me mass amounts of good info & input

There are only three aftermarket intakes available right now that I'm aware of. K&N, CGS, and Airaid. They can be found here:

I'll let others make comments about there usefulness (or lack of). I chose to just replace the factory filter with one from K&N.

Are you talking about a full on ram air hood and all? or just an intake system?

I assumed he meant just a cold air intake, since ramair is pretty rare on anything besides V8's

True, but somebody out there sooner or later will cut up a hood and add scoops and have the ram air kit made. Just, please, no fake stick on crap.

You mean you wouldn't put this on your HHR.
I know it's a PT but use your imagination.

Anything I can do to make mine NOT look like a pt. I'm old school though I hate stick ons, if your going to do it, do it! If your going to put a scoop on the front use it, don't make it a big bug catcher. Once again NO.

it is slighlty different but we guys with colorados have been doing "ram air" for years now. almost since the truck came out. some guys use dry hose to route air to the passenger side where the airbox is. if you do what real modders do you would customize. not going to get what you want without a little cutting. i currently have air intake hosing going from my passenger side where the air box is a down under just below my rad. i have seen many guys with this mod and no problems, and some of the trucks i know are much lower than yall would ever be able to get a HHR. just food for thought.

so maybe to help ya if you wanted to try this. make a new box and if my memory serves me correctly yall have huge area on passenger side front in the engine compartment for a modded custom air box. you could then run tubing down. unsure after that because i have not had a chance to look underneath. good luck hope this sparks imagination.
