There is no power steering fluid... It's an electric motor assist

I truly hope you're joking, right ?
There is no power steering fluid. The HHR's have electric power steering. It is an electric motor assist system.

Now, sometimes a person buys a car and hasn’t learned all and everything about it!
There is no power steering fluid to check , if the steering is tight inspect the fuse in the underhood fuse box .

Katrina Roberts- Also, there is NO automatic transmission dipstick, Just an FYI. I remember way back when I learned that.

But BMW & some other Mfgrs are doing this very same thing. If you leave no spot on the ground, after being parked it is ok, unless it shows symptoms of trans issues.

Okay thank y'all all for all the help. If I get a break today I'll take it in and get the codes. I did not know about the power steering cause it is not my car. It's my boyfriends. I just been working on it for him. And I did know about the transmission though but thanks for the fyi.

Seems like it's just one thing after another with these HHR. I think I'll stick with my firebird.

Post those codes so we can advise you on what they mean , please don’t go by what the guy tells you, just write down the codes.
Most times one code can set off several others and it’s really a simple fix .
