I started a thread a couple days ago, "Why I bought my HHR", (38) respondents at this time, no one said they bought their ride for "Performance".
I got it because it was "COOL", not "HOT" as in hot rod.
2.2L vs 2.4L please, give me a break. It`s a grocery getter for goodness sakes. Guys standing around an HHR wondering how many "Horses", Ha.
Even with a Turbo/Super Charger, who would take you seriously.

 

Dude lay off, i don't go into the threads talking about the new fake chrome pieces that in my opinion make the car look terrible, but then again it is my opinion. What some one wants to do to their own car is their choice. My last car was a 91 caprice wagon that came with a 305 TBI and i put a 350 TBI into it, why when the 94-96 caprices had the LT1 and were alot more powerful than the 91-93's even after i did the engine swap. It was because i wanted to and i loved that wagon. Plus if you smoke a civic in either an HHR or a Cobalt, what has a better cool factor. You better believe the HHR. Every one loves a Sleeper.

Maybe led taillights improve the looks and performance more than chrome... B/B

 

I didn't buy it b/c it was a performance machine, i just fell in love with the looks the first time i saw it. I would just like to improve on my HHR in any ways that i possibly can to make it more my own. Things like LED tails that come on faster and give you less of a change of getting rear ended, better braking also for safty, more power to make the car more fun to drive, each of these things are also personal preference, and that is also what makes owning a car not just another thing to own but a hobby to enjoy, to each their own.

This is how I'm going to force feed mine.....lol....I still have to finish running the purge line to where I want it, get the bottle filled, and I need to get fuel and nitrous gauges just to be on the safe side........Stay Tuned

 

You know its these kinds of posts that really "irk" me about some of the people on this site. I personally bought the HHR for the wagon body style and also the performance! Check with ANY other company offering a wagon and check the performance numbers. The HHR is 10x's better for the price in looks and performance bar none! 2.2 OR 2.4 it doesn't matter. I mod my car for me, not you. I dont talk about the cheesy chrome crap on other's HHR's that turns me off to the looks. Simplicity in design. My HHR to me is just that! No extra chrome crap. The only thing truly "show-y" on my HHR are the 20" chrome wheels. Everything else is clean, simple and for the most part makes it faster. My HHR in its current state is running faster than ANY STOCK 2.4 HHR out there! Just because my time slips at the strip don't reflect that doesn't mean it's not. It just means I can't drive at a track. I get too ancy!

The purpose of these vehicles is to modify them to YOUR liking. We are here to help eachother out and not talk crap about what someone chooses to do with their HHR!

I don't, haven't and never will vote for your HHR because since you have been around I haven't heard much from you in a positive manner BB. The nicest thing I have heard from you was during the HHR of the month contest which you ran against me but were a little confused as to the votes. Then when you took the time to see someone else's auto you realized what was done to my HHR. Your response was "Next time let a guy know he's coming to a gun fight with a knife." It was the nicest thing i've seen you post about another HHR other than yours. If people want to add performance then let them. You don't like then DONT POST. It's quite simple.

Now if you want to start a thread about pointless chrome rub strips lining every possible naked edge of your HHR then great! But don't trash talk asking if anyone would take you seriously about performance on a HHR. Truth be told the majority of the people in Tucson AND Phoenix here in AZ that I have raced are VERY impressed with the HHR I have and what it can do when opened up! On the strip I have run consitant 16.9's regardless of what I've done to the HHR. However on the street when we're playing around I am hanging with and beating cars running mid 15 second quarter miles. It just means they are a little more calm than I at a track. So please keep your negative comments to yourself because you're not helping anyone!

Sure you can post anything you want as long as its not OFF TOPIC. If you want to make a thread about how crappy the performance aspect of the HHR is then do it. But don't come into an informative thread for people wanting something more than Chevy gave us and talk crap or step on peoples toes. I don't care if anyone takes me seriously even if I have a turbo or SC on my HHR. Its for me and what I want. Now, stop your crap and make your own "performance bashing" thread. Thanks!
