Trifecta Tune?

Hello,
Educate me. What is this Trifecta Tune all about? Is it a program I can install? I see a place out west that does it.
Thanks.

You should do a search on this. I saw a bit of a discussion on this the other day which should answer your questions.

Actually, Check out this link I got from a post by TomsHHR..... one of the site vendors. This should help you out.

It's a re-flash of the engine management computer and yes you do it yourself with a laptop (or other computer you can drag out to your car) and a special cable. Best to complete the majority of your other mods first, then have the tune done to take advantage of them.

For the money, does it work? What parameters can I change? Or is it built in to the program.

I haven't done mine yet but from the response I got via PM from those that have done it, it's the best bang for the buck. The changes are built into the flash file specific for your needs and other mods.... so it's custom for your car and driving style.

I'm still deciding on possible "other mods" first before I get my tune...... of course money comes into play also.

I also read you would have to change your tune back to stock before going to the dealer so it wouldn't void warranty issues.

That would be true of any tune, also some dealers may point at intakes and exhaust as the cause of failures, if related.......... So those may need changed back too. Modifying any car while it's under warranty could always cause hassles.

Depends on why it's going back to the dealer.

There is an ongoing question and answer thread with the forum's trifecta guy here....https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/2-4l-performance-tech-14/trifecta-performance-discussion-27127/

Even though it's in the 2.4L section doesn't mean you can't join in. Tom can give you any specifics you need....

I too would like to get a tune done. This week I contacted CJ on the chevyhhr.net site regarding this. The HHR I just bought has 60k, so the only warranty is the powertrain. I'm thinking about doing the intake mod he suggests, and then getting a tune. I don't want to spend a bunch of money, but for a few hundred bucks, if I can significantly increase the HP and peppiness of car as well as the mpg, it sounds good to me.
