Now some Flowmaster mufflers may sound great and add good power on some vehicles - but it was not the case with mine.
The same thing happend to me with my 56 BelAir. When I got it it had Flowmasters, but it was a bit to loud for my taste, so I replaced them with a couple turbo mufflers from Summitracing and gained gobs of performance. The engine was a SB 400 with a 350 crank yeilding 377 CID, Keith black pistons, "H" beam rods, scat forged steel crank, edlebrock aluminum performer heads, and matching intake, hooker headers, and a bunch of other goodies. Yeah, the right muffler can make a difference.

They put them up against some very well known and popular mufflers and they were much quieter and flowed extremely better.
Is it possible that Walker either sold out or changed their name to Dynomax? Did a search for Walker and found a connction to this at Summit Racing....

Yeah but you wouldn't meet an emissions test and it's illegal to remove it on cars that came from the factory with it.

Unless the vehicle is meant for off road use of course. I had to add that before someone else pointed that out for me.

i found a local Lewisville muffler shop that quoted me a price of $90 including tax installed no matter what for a finished install.

i had one shop quote me $49 for the muffler plus instal so this is inline and they told me $35 to $50 for the install, so still about the same.
