Want more hp!
I think the newer HHRs all have it now tho..
Wow! This is the first car forum I've ever joined. I joined because I've learned so much from the motorcycle forums I thought car forums must be the same.
I got the LS because I'm cheap. I just wanted to be able to go to the grocery store and back. When i want power, I'll hop on my motorcycle.
I just got my 2010 today and find the engine acceptable. I've only been about 15 miles in it though. I might regret being cheap in a month or so
and wishing I had my old mustang back.
For my motorcycle, there were simple mods that made huge improvements in the driveability of the bike. Things I would think should be that way from the start but aren't. I clicked on this thread to see if it was the same with the car but I guess not. According to you guys, GM made it perfect and any modding is senseless.
Okay.
But...
I'll still change the spark plugs and make it breathe better.

Welcome dude !!! My bikes are my hot rods too...
My Panel is no slug, it does everything I want it to.. Except for getting pulled over today for over the speed limit..
But no ticket...

Of course, the ideal car does not exist. This site - the living proof of this assertion. 90% of the guys above have improved or are currently improving their HHRs.
But you're right. HHR - a great car. Its drawbacks are not fatal, they emphasize its advantages.
Now I improve my Behemoth with the same love and pleasure with which I was bring up my wife in the early years of our life together.
Pleasant and exciting process. In the future, do not be ashamed to pass the new owner - I'm talk about my HHR, is not about my wife/
Based on person experience Jeff, changing out the plugs will make them run better since the plugs slowly degrade with mileage. Just make sure to only use the Delco Iridium plugs when you change them out, the Iridiums are designed for the Ecotec engine, and it was designed around their performance characteristics.
Folks who've gone to "Brand X" plugs here, seem to have assorted problems afterwords, and eventually it all comes back to the spark plugs they used instead of the Delco plugs.
