Can an supercharger be installed on a the 2.4 (E-85 ) 172 hp engine?
Would this void the warrantee? Do you think GM would install the super charge.

Also look at lunchbox and hhrfreeks threads on their supercharged HHR's. Others have done it as well, but they did not post much info about it.

 

I was reading about the boost from a supercharger and it could damage the engine. How much boost will 2.4 with stand ? I'm not drag racing this buggy just want to jazz it up a little.

 

The supercharger will jazz you up for sure. If your just looking for a little more id go with a tune.

 

I have a tuned 2.4 it is much more drivable, but it's still a slug. If you are wanting to get from point A to point B quickly in an HHR I would suggest one of these.

 

Been researching this as I plan to do the ZZP stage 2 supercharger in February and I'm modding up my HHR for this install so my mechanic made some calls to a guy in Minneapolis who has souped up more then one ecotec. He was told there are no issues with the 2.4 and adding a supercharger. They can handle as much boost and HP as the 2.0 up to a limit, but that limit is more then you and I will ever get to.

Ignore everything I said, I just looked at your original post closer and see you have a flex 2.4. I'd be lying if I told you I knew now.
