In Texas we like our moonshine with a little bite in it. And it will make you think you are getting 40 mpg (miles per gulp).

Cool!!

When I saw the pic, my first thought was that you were planning on becoming a supporting vendor and sell "snake oil".

Thanks ChevyMgr. That made my day. I was starting to think this stuff was snake oil anyway. That picture just sums it all up.

Well just burnt my first tank of gas and 4 oz. of acetone in my 96 Saturn look like it worked.I get a steady 46-47 miles to the Canadian gallon this tank pulled a 50.40 so I`am up a good 3.5 miles was hoping for more.I noticed today my tires were looking low I haven`t checked them out in months 3 were at 26-28 psi.

So I`am on my second tank with 3 oz of acetone this time and tires at 35 psi. Will have to see how this combo works and will post results next week.

The Acetone myth resurfaces from time to time like clockwork. People naturally are attracted to the idea that a $5 bottle of nail polish remover will achieve something that legions of PhD chemists and automotive engineers have inexplicably been unable to figure out.

Don't get it on your paint.

Just a update on the second tank with acetone up just a bit at 51.97 so that makes it a solid 10% more with the acetone. They claim up to 30-35% more mpg in some cars I would say that is impossible. The one link in an above post had comments from owners and most were 10% and less.

Personaly all I can say it worked in my saturn I would not waste my time if I had a car or truck getting less than 15 mpg.So now on my 3rd tank 3 oz of acetone and hopping to get into the 50 degree temps soon.I will keep track till I use up the whole gallon of acetone. With warmer temps and a return to summer gas I hope to see more gains.

I was watching Mythbusters last night and they were doing mileage improvers. One of the items tested was... you guessed it acetone. They claimed no improvement. The only thing they found was running a diesel engine on vegetable oil got only slightly lower (about 10%) mileage than diesel fuel. Not disputing Mike's results, just thought it was a timely segment for them.

I like to add a little extra Uranium to the Flux Capacitator once in a while. ChevyMgr says it will give me light years of mileage...

This thread reminds me when I was younger.....

My friend would go into his dads garage and put one of the many highly flammable liquids found on the shelf in his moped to go faster. Bug spray, Acetone, MEK...ect. A few days later he burned a hole in his piston....hehe

Fun while it lasted.
