So... JoeR, I am interested.

Why do you think the CGS intake is such garbage?

HMMMMM... Supercharger... CGS.... Supercharger... CGS... Supercharger Slight Advantage ? Probably More Like Supercharger vs. Cold Air Intakes ...

I Don't Think He's has a Preference of any other CAI it's Probably that He Really Prefers the Intake of a Supercharger !

The CGS is a HOT air intake. Higher temps result in lower air density and less power!! As an engineer, that is fact, not opinion. You can't change science, folks!

I think the CGS (my opinion) looks much better than the stock intake, however, the stock intake is NOT restrictive and is actually an effecient design.

Here's is a dyno comparison, done honestly. The lower graph is the CGS. Actually putting the stock intake hose in the void where the CGS filter is will result in almost the exact same loss due to intake air temps.

Not Claiming to Be a Rocket Scientist but at Idle you are Most Likely Correct About the CGS Being a "HAI" or Hot Air Intake! Most Dyno's that I Know of are Stationary and thus the Intake Will Take in the Hot Air that is Around It! Put the Vehicle in Motion and the Intake will Injest Circulated Air, Not the Stagnent Hot Air that is in the Engine Bay !

Just My Thoughts, Right or Wrong ,

Before the supercharger, I took some time to analize air temps with a digital thermocouple.

While temps were higher at idle, when moving, whether at city speeds or on the highway, air drawn from underhood at the CGS filter location was significantly higher than from the fenderwell or ambient temp. Temp deltas ranged in the 30 - 50* F. higher. A "simpler" formula than the SAE one is that (and this applies to any motor) a 10* F. temp difference will effect HP by about 1%.

The dyno I tested on had about the best cooling fan system I've ever seen at a shop. The large fan was a 60" water cooled unit. Two squirrel cage units were placed in front of the lower valence. While not perfect, that's as good as you can get on a dyno.

An ex vendor of the CGS falsely claimed that it would draw air from the now open hole in the fender where the OEM tube was located. Guess what? The thermocouple testing found that under all conditions air would flow out the hole, not in.

Remember that most of that underhood air has been dircted through the radiator.

I'll say it again... I think the CGS looks good, much better than the OEM hat. Sounds good too. But just don't expect any performance gain.

Hey Joe,

Thanks for the Detailed Response ! I Personally Appreciate the "Factual" Data and You Not Beating On Me with Your Answer which Some Members Seem to Get a Kick Out of Doing ! At this Point Not Really Wanting to Replace Our CGS I'm Hoping to Find a Way to Direct Some Cold Air Into the Engines Bay, Cleanly .....

Just use a little blue Loctite. It will hold, but will still come out if needed.

Seriously, I try to help here, but occasionally get fustrated with the BS, not the people.

Space limitations are a big factor (don't I know it!!). Probably the best compromise for looks, sound, but still not performance, is the GMPP, which seems to be in short supply.

Personally, I like looks... I like sound... but the biggest factor to me, anyway, is performance over those two. Others have their priorities and that is understood.

Looks is a matter of opinion. Sound is a matter of opinion. Performance is not. It's too bad that some cannot distinguish between opinion and fact.

BTW, I really like the looks of your car!
