Additional Note: My wife just got home with the HHR, it is hers, and I noticed that if I switched off the AC, it didn't vibrate nearly as much, almost none, so it vibrates more with the AC running. It is not lose, the clamps are tight, it is just the whole thing moves because, in my opinion, because it connected to the engine with the rubber boot. Also is there anyway to rev up the engine from the engine compartment or is it all done with a computer. I keep looking for the throttle cable, but I guess there isn't one or I am just blind.

Ther is no need to disconnect the battery for the CGS Intake install. The only time you would run into problems is if you turned the key on while the MAF sensor plug is disconnected. This will trigger an error code in the computer and you would then need to disconnect your battery for 2 hours to do a full reset.
The entire CGS install takes 15-20 minutes tops, and as long as you can leave the key off that long you're golden.
Regarding the vibration wth the A/C on; loosen your filter and slide it around until it does not hit the fenderwell when tightened.
We found if the filters are hitting a certain way they will "thump" a little in gear at idle with the AC on. It may also be rubbing against the windshield washer bottle, and that will cause some audible noise or vibration as well.
Strictly a filter adjustment issue - play with it a bit.

Thank You so much. We can always depend on you. I had not read anywhere that I needed to disconnect the battery. AS LONG AS I DID NOT TURN ON THE KEY AND I DIDN'T. As you state in your how to install. There is no noise or rubbing although it is tight but no audible noise. I was playing around a bit tonight with the filter adjustment and I readjusted and it doesn't vibrate as much now.
I am kind of a tinkerer and I think it is just the little 4 cylinder purring, and because I can now see the engine I am aware of the movement. Thanks Again, it was very easy to install, but like I said I just kind of like tinkering with it. I am very happy I did it and I am looking forward to having it for our upcoming trip. I will be looking for your next mod, although I think I need to slow down and let my bank account catch up.
Well, just installed my CGS (had the Imco installed on Sat) and in the immortal words of Chris Farley, Oh my freaking garsh! Took it up to the highway after the install.. got stuck behind a slower truck on the onramp, fast truck in the passing lane. Just stomped on the gas and around the slow truck and in front of the fast truck. Wow. Almost lost my grip on the steering wheel because I wasn't prepared for being slammed into the back of the seat like that. Amazing.
you can have fun with words...just that a new member might think "wow...an air intake can do all that?" after reading your reply and get the wrong impression. You know how it is in the forums, no one can really tell if someone is joking around or not.
Well, it's certainly not going to pull like a V8, but come on, for a 4 cyl, this simple mod is a hell of a lot of bang for the buck. As with most online reviews you always have to take things with a large grain of salt.
