I was wondering what air intakes you use on your HHR and all. I want to add an air intake to my HHR and get more horsepower and all. If anyone can give me any tips or anything like that, that would be great!

 

I have made 3 first I had the CGS then modified it to use an Edelbrok 10 inch round filter, for about the last 10 months the stock withthe side cutoff and have 2 1/2 inch xhaust pipe on each side, a big diffrence in performance, photos in file click on my name for photos.

 

Stock air box is pretty efficient, so I wouldn't expect big increases in HP.

Also which air intakes are California legal.

 

The intakes from GMPP(GM Performance Parts), and K&N are CARB approved, not sure about any others. If you're really interested in one, e-mail the manufacturer to see if their product is CARB approved, and if they can provide a copy of the approval certificate so you don't get a hassle at E-Check time.

 

I have the CGS intake and I like it. It has a good sound and I have noticed it reacts quicker. The only set back is that when it is hot (Texas) it decreases the mpg in the city but I plan to remedy that with a heat shield if I can find one that looks good.
