full intake or just a filter?

obviously, doing a k&n filter is going to be way cheaper but in reality is there much more gain with doing a full intake? Trying to do this right the first time instead of trial and error like I usually do. I like the sound and the what I think advantage of a full intake but when it all comes down to it, is it really that much better?

Just the K&N filter here.. The OEM Air Box is pretty efficient from the factory.

I have yet to see Dyno numbers that justify the prices for those CAI kits..(but that's me)..

I plan to get the CGS, mostly to get the stock air box out of the way, and have a cleaner engine setup.

FWIW: You could easily plumb a CGS thru the inner fender & actually draw outside air..

I agree about the 'engine cleaner look', least you would be able to actually see it..

I agree about plumbing through the fender well. It seems like a logical place to put the filter where it will draw cool air.

I have the GMPP intake, and like it. It does, however, make noise and covers up the top of the engine (but I like the look). It costs a bit too, but I did feel a power difference when I installed it, especially down low. The K&N full airbox system that breaths through the wooly tube too gets good marks from what I hear, and costs a bit less.

As was posted here, the K&N with the stock box seems to work well too.

God Bless, Marc
