Intake and mpg

Ok, so I did a test...
I rest the dic as soon as I got on the freeway leaving home and checked it at my destination.
All the while using cruise control to the speed limit.
So far trip A from home to destination = 34mpg.
I'll do it again on the way home.

Too bad I did.
So leaving home I got 34mpg
On the way home I got 22.5mpg
These readings are highway only.
The average between the two is 28.25mpg
Meaning removing my foot from the equation and only using cruise control gets me 5mpg more.
Quite a difference if correct, I will have to fill the tank and drive only cruise control for a week, and do a real mpg test.
And this test did not include the driving I did off of the freeway.
I guess I'll have to leave my old brick shoe at home apparently. Lol

Ok I did another test today, I reset the mpg dic as soon as I started the car this morning, drove to the freeway and used cruise control to and from destination and then parked car at home. The car dic showed 22.6mpg. So I may get good highway mpg, but burn the rest in city driving I guess.
Well day two without resetting and the average is now 24mpg all around and while using cruise control on freeway. So things are looking good!
